AUCKLAND MARKET REPORT.
Mr J. Jones, auctioneer, Victoria and Lome streets, Auckland, re-ports:-The market this week has been steady, and a large quantity of local potatoes have come forward and the market ia glutted, with values much lower. The majority of the samples are on the poor Bide, very effected with rust and blight. Swedes are heavy in supply with a very Blow sale. Poultry eased unless for prime conditioned birds. Pullets are in strong demand, with higher prices ruling. Fruit is about on last week's quotation. Butter and eggs are firmer. We quote:— Poultry.—Hens, prime la 7d to 2s 3d, choice 2s 5d to 2s lOd, ordinary Is 4d to Is 6d; ducks, 2s to 3s; geese, 4s to ss; roosters, prime 3s 6d to 4s 3d, good 3s to 3s 3d; cockerels, Is 6d to 2s; turkeys, gobblers 6s 6d to 10s, hens 4a to ss. Figs, 6s to 10s. Dairy produce.—Butter, IPd to Is Id; eggs, Is lOd to 2s; cheese, 7d to BJd; sideß, 9d to 9Jd; hams, 9d to lOd; honey, bulk, 2d to 3d. Farm produce.—Fotatoes, local prime 4s to ss, good £3 15b to £4, Southern £6 to £6 10s; onions, £6 10s to £7 10s; swedes, £1 10s to £2 ss; pumpkins, 4s to ss; melons, £3 10s to £4 ss; kumaras, 7b to 7s 6d. Fruit.—Apples, dessert 4s to 6s, cookers 3s 6d to ss; pears, dessert 4s to 6j 3d, cookers, 33 to 4d; passion fruit, 2s to 3s 6d; tomatoes, 3s to 4s; lemons, 5s toj 6d. Grain.—Maize, 6s to 63 6d; wheat, 8s; oats, sb; Algerian seed, 7a 6d; bran, 93; sharp?, £9 10a; barley, 6a 6d; meal, £9; chaff. £8 to £9.
