The Maori concert and dance held last Thursday attraded a large audience. There was a gcod number of visitors frcm over the river. The rative brars band was also in attendance. A varied and interesting programme was presented. After eupper a series of dances wcs put on, and daccirg was followed with such enthusiasm that the morning was well advanctd tefore ths last dar.ce was announced. The afair was very succeesful, and the promoters hupe to arrange a similar function in Waiuku shortly. Owiiu to the inadequate accommodation of the heal school a petition has been prepared and extensively signed with the object of getting the Education Board to effect improvements. The continuous rains ot late fcuve some propls the impression that the swamp lands were gjirg to experience a flood, a3 was. the case about seven years rgo. Happily the danger was not at all serious on this occasion. Pastures arc njw in good condition ard stock are doing well.
