POKENO.

The attention of the Railway Department is to be drawn to a matter that has long been a source of annoyance to the Pokeno passengers that travel by the mixed train leaving Auckland at 4.25 p.m., arriving at Pokeno at 6.58 p.m. It is alleged that instead of the carriages being stopped it tha station platform for passengers to alight the guard's van is drawn up there and passengers have to descend to terra fit ma as they are best able. Now that the evenings are drawing in and it is dark when the train reaches Pokeno the passengers feel that their complaint is reasonable.
