A FIERCE ENGAGEMENT.

The old proverb about a " red rag to a bull" was forcibly illustrated, writes a correspondent ot the London Daily Telegraph) at a village school wear Derbv recently. This, ot cours>, .vas promptly replied to. and immediately the lads'were at it ••hammer and tongs to the admiratioi of the whole school, until the scoholmnster hurried to tlw spot and used "forcible per-uasion" to restore peace. He then inquired into the cause cf tie "war," and amidst great amusement the two boys stood before the scliool and shook hands, while the mischief-maker wrs caution ed as to his future conduct.
