POKENO.
Mr Taylor, who has been appointed in charge of the Pokeno railway station, has been for many years on the relieving staff of the Department and is well known in the Auckland district.
The sale of Mr J. Keith's Maungatawhiri Vhlley property, a few days ago, speaks well for the future of the Valley. The price paid, per acre, is said to have been £4O. The old ilaxmill in the Valley, that has remained dormant for the past two years, has again been set in motion. Mr b. Douglas, Eokeno, has gone into partnerhsip with ope of the Magill Bros, (the previous proprietors of the mill), and the firm started operations foi the first time last week.
