CLEVEDON.
The Wairoa Tennis Club played their last match of the season on Saturday last when the Hunua team visited the local courts. After several interesting contests, witnessed by a crowd of spectators, Wairoa proved victorious by 11 games to 1, C. Crispe and A. Dow beicg beaten after a very exciting set too.
The fallowing is the result of the gamrs, the Wairoa players being mentioned first in each case, viz:— Ladies' doubles —Misses McKnight beat Misses Aitcheson and Marton, 6 —6, 6—2; Misses Uram and Sutherland beat Misses Cowan and Campbell; Misses Browne and Lang beat Misses Hill ana Hirst, 6—2. 6—3. Men's doubles—Alexander and McNeil beat Hirst and Aitcheson, 6—l, 6-0; Furley and Ghezzi beat Civil and Hill, 6—3, 6—o; Crispe and Dow lost to Forrest and Hirst, 6—3, 56, 4—6. Combined doubles—Miss McKnigbt and J. Alexander beat Miss Aitcheson ard M. Aitcheson, 6—2. 6—4: Miss M. McKright and D. McNeil beat Miss Martin and W. Hirst, 6—o, 63; Miss Oram and P. Furley beat Miss Cowan and R. Civil, 6—l, 6—l; Miss Sutherland and J. Ghezzi beat Miss Campbell and L. Hill 6-0, 6-1; Mjss Browne and C. Crisps beat Miss Hill and J. Forrest, 6—4, 6—o; Misa Lang and A. Dow beat Miss Hi p st and F. Hirst, 6—2, 6—3.
