OTAUA.
The dance held under the auspices of the sports club proved a very successful function. A good floor had been prepared in the Otaua Hall, and this was appreciated by about 40 couples. Mr Hicks provided the music A capital dance programme, together with the good quality refreshments supplied, made up 8n enjoyable time for all. Dancing was continued until abouf 1 o'clock, when everybody seemed quite satisfied. The M.C's. were Messrs W. Scmerville and J. McNair.
Following are some of the results of Otaua eporta gathering iu addition to the list published —Local race -G. McDonald 1, Ted barriball 2. Contoiauon race— Firth 1, J. Williams 2, L. P. Kodgets 3. High jump—C. Carroll 1, Tim Hone and P. Noble tied for second. In the maiden event W. Woodward was second aid Ted barriball third. Stockman's event— N Sedgwick 2. Tiltirg-at-the-ring— F. Priest 2. Distance stepping R. Holmes 2. In the Otaua Cup H. Martin wen third prize, and in the Hurdles C. S. McNamara got third. For the 440 yds race C. S. McNamara wae third, and in the half-mile E. Frewin won third prize D. Neil won the Boy's Race with J. Millar eecond, and Mi3s Williams won the Girls' Race with Gladys Wright second.
