FIRE AT TAIHUNA.
A small house owned by Henare Kaihau was destroyed by fire at Taihuna, near Waiuku, on Saturday. The only occupant was a native young woman, who awoke at 3 o'clock in the morning to find the place full of dense smoke. She managed to escape with a few belongings, but the furniture and house met with complete destruction. The house was insured for £IOO in the Norwich Union office.
