BREEDERS AND GRAZIERS ASSOCIATION.

The first meeting of the newlyelected committee of the Breeders' and Gtaziers' branch of the Farmers' Union was held at the Albert street office, Auckland, on Wednesday evening last. Present: Major L'JBk, chairman ex-officio, as President of thje Union, and Messrs J. McGrfgor, Hamilton; P. Keegan, Bay of Plenty; I. W. Cox, Mangere; J. Harris, Otaua; H. Wily, Mauku; C. S. Murphy, Taraaki; and J. C. Allen, Thames Valley. Messrs Potts, Bennett and Harding wired expressing regret at not being able to attend the first meeting, but undertook to do what they could to forward the aims of the Association. Mr Huey was appointed acting-secratary. It was resolved that a subcommittee consisting of Messrs Murphy. Makgill, Cox, West and Wily be appointed a sub-committee, with Major Lusk as member exofficio, to draf*, a circular to members, Hnd to act for the committee until the next general meeting, the first meeting of the sub-committee being fixed for Saturday night last, and thereafter as occasion should rise. It was resolved that a letter be sent to the Farmers' Freezing Company asking what arrangements they were making to cope with the tat stock likely to come forward next season. The secretary was directed to write to the Hon. the Prime Minister thanking him for the successful efforts made by the Government to provide sufficient ships to carry frozen meat this season, and to point out the difficulties in the way of getting produce to tho West of Englaud. several oi the boats refusing to take cargo for tho'e ports from Auckland. Major Lusk, Mr Keegan and Mr Wily were appointed a deputation to meet the Prime Minister and endeavour to secure better facilities for Auckland in regard to prcducc for the West of England. The secretary was also instructed . to write to Mr Keals, of Opuatia, I sympathising with him in bis present severe affliction.
