The Paw J. A. Cable, who has recently been spending a holiday at Dunediu, says the southern farm lands present a striking contrast to our northern binds. Owing to the shortage of priests, however, in the diocese, the Bishop could not allow Father Skinner to depart. Three southern priests, one from Wellington and two from the South Island, managed to get off and were duly appointed.
