THE GREAT WAR.
The Voyage to Egypt Writing to Q.M.S. Greenhead, of Waiuku, from the vicinity of Cocos Islands, Sergeant-Major Milne, of this district, gives a vivid descrip tion ot a soldiers's life aboard the troopships. He mentions that the food supplied is good and that both men and horses were doing well. They had a large salt water bath, 20 x S, i;n his troopship, end the boy 3 had a great time. Rough weather was experienced after leaving Hobart and a deck built for drill purposes was neatly carried away. A fair amount of shooting practice was obtained at floating targets. The writer instances one of the warships clearing out after a strange ship and that for some reason or other the transports were going dead slow. In closing he asks to be remembered to Waiuku people.
