The market this week has been heartily supplied with fruit and poultry. The price of fruit is lower. Poultry, unless of good quality, prices are low. Good roosters are in strong demand, old ducks are low in value. Potatoes are easier, also onions We quote
Poultry, 1800 penned.—Hens, Is 6d to 2s 6d; roosters, up to 4a 9d, good 3s to 4s, small 2s to 2s 9d; ducks, young 2s to 3s, old Is to Is 4d; geese, 2s 9d to 3s fid; turkeys, gobblers-7s to 8s 6d, hers 3s 9d to bs. Pigs, 7s to 13s. Dairy produce.—Butter, 9d to lOd; e?gs, Is 2d to Is 4d; cheese, 7d to 7£d; hams, BJd to 9Jd; honey 3s 6d to ss.
Farm produce —Potatoes, prime, 8s to 9s, good 7s to 7a 6?, poor 4 a to ss; onions, local, 9s to lis; swedes, £2 15s to £3 15s vegetables, scatce.
Fruit.—Apples, l.cal cookers 4s to 7s, dessert 4s to Ds; plums, Bu-banks in heavy supply Is to Is lOd, English Is lOd to 3s; lemons, 9s to lt)3; tumatois, 4d to lOd lb; peaches, 2s 6d to 5s 6d, in good demand. /
