On Saturday last a match was played under the new regulations for "Stars" matches between Grigor, Frost, J. Adams and Keith (holders v. Rowley, Jackson, Hewgon and Wright (challengers), the latter being victorious by 25 points to 19. The winners had a lead of 13 points (14—1) at the Ecventh head; the holders then gradually got into close quarters but did not succeed in quite overhauling their opponents. Friendly matches resulted as follows:--
A. H. Baker, Webb, H. G. Smith and Barter beat W. Adams, Clewp, Wake and J. Roulstor, 18—15. Lawrie, Cruin, Blake and Clarke beat Fitness, Townson, D. Roulston and F. Pearce, 20—15? Jones, Baker, O'Loughlan and Armstrong beat McLean, Grant, Spiers and Hubbard, 27
Playing for the Cock of the Walk on Monday, C. K, Lawrie wrested the trophy lrom J. Hewson, the holder.
