CRICKET.
Papakura v. St Peter's. I Cricket teams representing Papakura and St. Peter's (Auckland) met at Papakura on Christmas Day, when the Papakura eleven batting first compiled 100 runs—H. McCormick (32) and H. Lodge (20) being principal scorers. The representatives of St. Peter's Club replied with 98 runs—Bushell (51) and Cullimore (10) making the highest scores. The finish of the match was very exciting, with only seven wickets down and three runs to win the remaining batsmen of St. Peter's Club were bowled by Lodge in one over, without making an addition to the score. For the winners H. Lodge and C. Waugh bowled well, and for the visitors Wright and Cullimore divided honours. The scores ware as follows : Papakuba H. McCormick", b Wright .. 32 H. On the 19th inst., at Pukekohe, the Papakura Club were successful in beating the Pukekohe representatives by 12 runs. Only one innings was played, the scores being: Pukekohe 39, Papakura 51.
Waugh (Papakura) took 8 wickets for 14 runs, and F. Brown, for tho losing team, finished with an average of o wickets for 14 runs.
