Daniels, were inspecting tho proposed sito of tho new factory at "Waiuku on Tuesday, and it i< understood that plans for tho wi. will shortly be available for public teudor. The driver of one of tha Waiuku motor cars had rather an exciting experience on Wednesday. A would-be fare called at the garage and stated that urgent business requited his presence in Auckland within two hours. Hiring arrangements being completed, a start was made for the city. Nearing Runcunan the driver noticed that his passenger was becoming restless. When approaching Papakura "the fare," gesticulating wildly, announced that he was not going to allow himself to be taken to the asylum (apparently thinking that such was to be the destination of his journey) and jumping off the moving car he darted into the neighbouring bueh and went into biding. The police were communicated with and a Eearcb party has been organised to endeavour to discover the whereabouts of the "eccentric" individual.
