OBITUARY.
.» Another of the early pioneer stttlers, Mr John Craig, of Waipipi, passed away on Sunday, at the age of 77 years. He had experienced varying physical health for seme time, occasionally being off colour and at other times hearty and strong. A few days ago he was knocking about as usual when feeling well, but then had an attack of illness during which he passed away quietly, though somewhat suddenly. The deceased came to the Waiuku district about 50 years ago, and has successfully followed farming pursuits. He took uo prominent part in public affairs, but was highly respected throughout the district. He leaves a widow and grown-up family, rive sons and four daughters, all married, to mourn their loss. The funeral took place at Waiuku cemetery on Tuesday, a large number of district settlers paying their last respects to the deceased. There was also a numerous collection of wreaths and floral emblems.
