BELGIAN RELIEF FUND
Under the auspices of the Prury branch of the Farmers' Union a most successful concert In aid of the Belgian Relief I'und wa< held in the Public Hall on Friday evening last Notwithstanding the fact that there had been n concert nearly every week fur at mo time, the attendance was a a record for Prury. The nett results of the concert and dance that followed were £l2 10s. Mr Glasson presided. The proceedings were i.pciu'il by singing "God Save (he King.' The chairman then called for tines choeri for the Belgians. The overture was played by Mrs McDonnell (piano) and Messrr Manson flute and vlillfl (ill of Au II in I). 11>2 following items were most mditsbly rendered: Sonir, Mi*a McNiughtlß) tlapce, Hii?hla""(r , Fli'g, Miss Siddle (.Vicklund); recituti ir. Mr Matthews 'Aucklano); song, Mr McPjnnfll (Auckland); violin solo, Mr DonOhoa (Auckland); song* by twj littll girls iMi-si's lodge i; sung, Mr Bailey (Auckland); sword dance, Miss Siddler initiumental, Mrs Mil),mm ll and Messrs Manson; sung, Mr Thompson; fong, Mr Bailey; sone, Mrs McNauithton; noils', Mr Manson; danc?, lri«h Jig, Miss I.iddall; rong, Mr Coldicutt; song. Mr Bailey; sang, "Wee Doch and Lhirris," Mr Manson.
On the motion of Mr Joseph Flanagan n hearty vote of thanka was accorded tre hdirs and gentlemen who had so willingly and capably assisted with lhe programme, several of whom had journeyed from Auckland to assist. The refreshments for the dsneo were kindly donated by Messrs J. and J. Hugg.
