'ihc county council elections take placo on Wednesday, November 11th. The Aka Aka Drainage Board election resulted iu the following being elected mombers : Messrs 0. Hull, S. P. Henry, E. T. Bent, 8. N. West, and J. N. Massey. Mr T. Hair returned from the hospital last woek, and has since been getting about with the aid of a stick. His injured Jeg has made good progress and he will shortly be at work again. Mr J. B. Copeland, managor of local creamery, has been off work for the past fortnight owing to straining the muscles of his arm. He is making good progress and hopes to tako up duties again shortly. A good deal of appreciation is expressed locally in regard to the motor car service, which enables people to get to and from Auckland much quicker than formerly by a rapid transit to connect with the railway service. I The iatc Mr Neil Marquis, M.R.C.V.S., had attained the age of 64 years. He took his diploma with credit in 1876 at the Glasgow Veterinary College, at the age of 26, after a course of instruction by private tuition and later at Glasgow University. Prior to coming to Waiuku he was for many years in practice at Timaru.
