OBITUARY.
<». Death of Mr Marquis. The death uccurrrd en o'unday night of Mr Neil Marquis, M.R.C.V.S., at his late residence, Waiuku, after a painful illness extending over the past fourteen weeks. He wa3 a man of great ability in hia profession, although his advanced years and physical health prevented him getting about much of late. The deceased csme to Waiuku from Timaru about two years ago under engagement to the local Veterinary Association. Lately he has practised on his own account. Ihe late Mr Marquis obtained his certificate about 1867. He had training in London and Lciinburgh Colleges, and showed a bigii degree of learning in veterinary affairs. Although not in this district for any leegth of time there arc a number of instances in which hh skill has been diHpla\e.l aicesifully. For some time past, however, he has shown failing physical health, and died as above utated owing to heart failure. The funeral took place at Waiuku cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, a large number of mourners paying their tribute of respect to deceased.
