Pukekohe v. Arawa. The annual match between the Arawa end Pukekohe cluba was played al Pukekohe on Monday, the visitors winning by the substantial majority of 70 runs. Baker with a vigorous 88 was top-scorer. Ryan I was the best bowler for Pukekohe. McDonald trundled steadily but he was inclined to be too short to be really dangerous. Johnson's " donkey drops" were not appreciated by his opponents, and more service could have been made of hli bowling. Brown and Skinner were the other bowlers to meet with success. Going io a second time Pukekohe did far better, making 139 for 9 wickets. Johnson played a tine innings for 61 not out, his driving past cover and hie "hook" strokes being particularly clean and hard. F. Brown played a useful innings, combining caution and aggressive tactics for 27, and Skinner played tieely for 18. The visitors were entertained at lunch at the Pukekohe hotel and enjoyed their outing in the country.
