Among the reinforcements for the expeditionary force who left Hamilton for Trentbam on Tuesday last were Mesrs E. Beliingham and W. P. Boud, of Pukekohe (infantry). Mr Alf. Walker, of Papakura, 3rd Auckland Squadron, left Auckland for the same destination. The lastnamed is a brother of Mrs W. Dickens and Miss Walker, of Pukekohe. Mr Owen McLean has commenced business in O'Co nor's buildings, Pukekohe, as a men's and boys' outfilter. Mr McLear, who will specialise in men's mercery, intend* carrying a stock of the latest and most up-to-date lit cj in this class of goods. Mr McLean com=s from Whangarei and is a hockey and Rugby fcotball enthusiast. He played for the "Country" hrckey rep. team and was als) one of the Whangsrei Rugby reps. Yesterday morning a quiet but interesting wedding *va- solemnised at the residence of Mr Broun, Pukekohe, when Mr J. J. MeKinney and Miss Esther Boulton were married. Miss E. Boulton was bridesmaid. Rev. G. Frost was the officiating minister. After the ceremony, wedding breakfast was enjoyed when the custouiarv toasts were honoured. Mr and Mrs McKinuoy left for Rotorua on their honeymoon. The Methodists of Pukekohe are celebrating the-Jli'li anniversary of the opening of the present church ou I Sunday next by special services. I The Rev. G. 11. Mann, of Devonport, j will preach in the morning, aud the | Rev. G. Frost in the evening. The ! choir will rentier appropriate anthems jat both services. The collections are on behalf of the trust fund. The anniversary social will be held on Thursday, October 29th, by n public meeting at 7.30 pm. Theec wonderful cars have again surprised their critics owing to the fact that they have been adopted by the leading military authorities for use at the seat of war, where the machines have to face all sorts and conditions of rouls, and where t l, e authorities do not want anything unlesa it is absolutely reliable arid economical. Ford cars are accompanying the New Zealand, Australian, Canadian, Uritism and Russian armies.
