It is reported that representatives of Auckland Harbour Board, including the chairman, are to pay a vi-it to Waiuku next Tuesday, ro the desired improvement in the waterway in the vicinity of the wharf. Some welcome lilling-iu of holes in the main street with metal has been done during the week. Attention lias also been paid to tho watettables. There is a good deal to do, however, before any material benefit will be experienced generally Some of the footpaths could bo much improved by a workman with a shovel and wheelbarrow. There is one particularly bad place near the public hall where a break in the footpath forms a trap for pedestrians, and on dark nights, when tho lamp opposite shed.s no welcome light around, a few youths standing near the spot, and taking up the greater part of the footpath, help tbo unwary to discomtituro with the probability of painful injury.
