THE CRICKET SEASON.
Practise at The Net. Half-a-dozen Pukekohe enthusiasts turned out to net practise on Saturday. At present the desire of the Pukekohe Club is to joh the Auckland Suburban Association, but this course will largely depend on the possibility of being able to arrange for matches to be played at Papatoetoe. As to the prospects of the club in the field this year, the , season is not yet sufficiently i advanced to enable us to hazard an opinion. New members include T. L Skinner, who last season captained the Ohakune team; W. R. Grace, who a couple ol seasons : ago played junior cricket in Auckland and was one of the most successful bowlers for the Shore; and Ryan, a recent arrival from Wellington. It is net possible to say how many of last year's team are available. Roy Schofield, who hit hard and "bloomin' often, ' has gone to the war and his vigorous batting will be missed. It is said that Frank Deane has retired, but it is hoped he mav be persuaded to change his mind.
