SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
Tho monthly mooting of Waiuku District School Committee took place last Saturday. In attendance were Messrs C. T. Barriball chairman) representing Waitangi, R. Iloncy for Kereotahi, R. Hudson and J. Williams Aka , S. T. Rossiter and A. M. Barriball v Central), and C. 11. Greenhead secretary;. The application of Mr Harris, head teacher, Central, to postpone the Michaelmas holidays, as the school had recently had a fortnight's holiday, was agreed to. Mr Harris also drew the Committee's attention to the need for increased accommodation. The accommodation of tho school was for 74 pupils and the roll number was 111.—After discussion tho Committee decided to forward the letter to the Education Board. It was reported that the work authorised at Aka Aka school had been completed to the satisfaction of the committee. It was also reported that the tarring and sanding required at tho Central playground had not been carried out owing to the difficulty of getting a man to do the work. Accounts were passed for various items, including school cleaning for £7 7s 2d.
