N.Z. LOAN AND MERCANTILE AC.ENCY CO. At Pukekohe on Monday wo held a special dairy sale. The advertised number came forward, and prices were much firmer than late sale?. Best cows, elosa to prolit, brought £9 10s to £l2 ss, others £4 to £8 15s; heifers, best £7 to £lO, others £5 to £6 15s; bulls, £5 to £6 10s. At Pukekohe on Tuesday we hold our usual monthly saic. There was a full yarding of stock of all descriptions, which met with better competition throughout. The 300 advertised steers, showing breeding and condition, sold under brisk competition, and averaged £8 14s. We quote: Four-year-old steers in forward condition, £9 to £9 10s; three to three and a-half year eld steer?, £7 15s to £8 17s 6d, two lo three year old steers £5 5j to £7 10s; yearling to 18-months steers, £.'J 5a to £4 15s; eteer calves, £2 2s to £:>, empty cows £3 18s to £5 ss; heifers, £o to £4 4s; heifer calves, uOs to £2 9s; others, IS3 to 2»55: hulls, £J to £lO. Ninety-six head of beef sold at i'ully Wcstiield rates.
