A FAKEWEI.I. FUNCTION
On Tuesday night, the Nth inst., 1 tuak plaej one of the most enjoyable socials ever held at I'ukekohe East public hall, the occasion being to farewtll Mr and Mrs Latta nnd family, who are leaving the district after seven years' residence. During (his time the family have Rained the respect and esteem ot all with whom they canu in contact, and 011 all sides expressions of regret were h:ard at iheir departure. Ilotli Mr and Mrs Latta are members of the school committee, the former having been chairman for some years. To Mr Latta is also due trie formation of the I'ukekohe liast branch of the Farmers' Union, of which lie was president. In a well worded speech Mr (J. Keane wished them success in their new home. The gathering broke up in the early hours by sinKinß "For lie's A .lolly Good Fellow" and "Auld Lang iSyr.e." „
