THE £IOOO MARK.
" We nothing extenuate, nor set down auqht in malice."
It is pleasing to I>o ablf to iinnotiuee that Pukekohe's collections at noon to-day had reached £1)50. This does not include gifts of a horse, saddlery and other equipment. What the Pukekohe Patriotic Committee set themselves out t) do was to raise £IOOO, and the end of the effort is happily now in sight. There are still other sums of money to be received and a number of local residents have not yet had the opportunity of contributing, so that the £IOOO mark should bo accomplished within the week. Again we wish to compliment the people <>f this district upon their generous giving and to express the hope that the next fewdays will soo the fulfilment of the hopes of the Pukekohe Patriotic Committee.
