BOMBAY.

SACRED ENTERTAINMENT.

On Wcduesday evening, August 26th, a sacred entertainment was giveu in the Wesleyan Church, chiefly to celebrate the opening of the beautiful new Cornish organ just received. Several selections were played by Mr H. V. Burton, which brought out the full and line tone of the organ. The following short programme was also rendered Anthem, " Make a Joyful Noise," the choir ; sacred song, Mr Brown; essay, " The Inspiration of Music," Mr H. Y. Burton; anthem, " Hallelujah," the choir; song, "Rocked in the Cradle of tho Deep," MiBest ; cornet solo, Mr Ramsay ; song, "The Mighty Deep," Mr Burton. A very pleasant little fuuc tion was a presentation by the choir to two of their members who have recently married, viz, Mrs E. McNichol, nee Miss Wray, and Mrs Fred Lowry, nee Miss Raiusay. Mr Burton, the choirmaster, in a felicitous speech, made the presentation. Miss MoCowen played the accompaniments for songs and anthems. EUCHRE AND DANCE. At the euchre party and dance on the Thursday night, the first prize winners were Mrs H. Sawyer and Mr Ernie Vince. The minor pr;z s fell to Miss Nora McCowen and Mr C. Flay. Mr R. Shanahan supplied the music (violin) for the dance.
