The Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of the Waiuku Vete» inary Society too'i place in the Parish hall on Friday afterroon, Mr S. P. Henry presiding. Others present were Mestrs C. Ikdgkinson, H. 0. Mtllsop, W. Smith, J. Louden, Waiters, J. T. Jonts and W. L. West, secretary. The committee's ant uaj report and balance-sheet showed that at August Ist, 1914, the membership totalled 4 7jt. Accounts c Iby the Society's late \eter.narian amounted to £9H Us 91 and theic wete sums outstanding which t tailed £27 12s. The statement of expenditure showed salary £220 Us, ! building drug room £l6 15s, legal expenses, £1 13 6d, and other items, including credit balance, which totalled £298 7s Bd. The assets, after meeting liabilities", i showed a credit balance of about > £3O. The report and balance-sheet was ! adopted. I SOCIETY TO UONUNUE. The committee's recommendation | | to consider the question of winding | jup the Society's atf'aira was then I dealt with 1 The chairman said it was a pity I there were not more of the guari antors present. 11' it were now decided to wind up and thea in two or three years thev wanted a similar society there would be a lot of expense to meet again. He thought thev should just let matters stand, ' as there would be no more calls. ! Ths secretary said some ol the guarantors had expressed a wish to be relieved of any further liability, Mr C. Hcdiikinson was of the opinion that ollicials should be appointed and the Society kept in existence. It cost a good sum in registration and legal experues, and the Society may serve a useful purpose later on. The guarantors were tunning no risk as the Society would not take up any active work. A motion was then adopted to keep the Society in existence, fie chairman explaining that the secretary would celled all outstanding accounts. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following officials were elected : —President, Mr C. Hodgkinson; secritary ar.d treasurer, Mr W. L. West; committee, Messrs W. Smith, J. T. Jonie, Waltets, S. West, A. Hull, H. 0. Mellsop and J. Louden; treasurer, Mr H. B. Armitsgc.
