RAMA RAMA.
EUCHRE AND DANCE.
The fortnightly euchre was held on the 19th inst., when Mr West's prizes were competed for. There were a fair number of players. The ladies' prize, a handsome silver jewel case, fell to Mrs Jennings, while Mr Mahon was the winner of the men's prize, a case of military brushes. Mr Eugg catered for the supper, Mr Barker providing excellent music for the dance that followed. AN ALLEGED ASSAULT. What might have proved more serious was an assault made on Mr John McCabe on Sunday morning by some presumably drunken motorists As he was riding along the road they stopped the car and got out. One man caught the horse, while the others pulled him oft' and handled him very roughly, he receiving a nasty cut above the eye. As a neighbour was coming along they evidently thought it wise to desist. aDd went oil' in the car towards Auckland as quickly as possible. The police have the matter in their hands, so there will probably be more heard of it.
