CONCERT AT TUAKAU.
An Enjoyable Affair-
Notwithstanding the recent inclemency of the weathsr a large audience attended the concert held in the Tuakau hall, in aid of the church fund, on Friday, August 7th. Before opening the conceit the Rev. Father O'Hara, in a few wellchosen remarks, commented on the present regrettable unrest arming between the Continental natiors, and asked all present to join in the refrain of "Hritancia, the Pride of the Ocean," which was ably sung by Mr F. G. Bourke. An excellent programme was then gone through, and was much enjoyed by all present. The popular favourites, Mr and Mrs Bourke, were muchappreciated, particularly in their rendering of A. Scott Galty's fine duet, "True Till Death," and were vociferously re called. Mrs Bcutke was heard to advantage in "Come Back to Erin," and Mr Bourke's interpretation of the songs "If 1 Were King," '" Mother Mackree," "Mother 'o Mine" and "My Task" will long be remembered bv all present. Another item which delighted everyone was the sjng "In Sweet Killarney" by Miss Madge Frost, who, though only a child in years, possesses a voice of great power and sweetness. In response to an insistent recall she rendered "The Veteran" in fine style. The Cachuca was beautifully danced by Misses Woods end Cawlrick, and a fine exhibition of illuminated club swinging was given by Professor Potter.
