STOCK SALES.

N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—

At Aka Aka, Waiuku, on Friday last, we held a clearing eale of Mr Alt. Kidd's live and dead stock. There was a very large attendance and high prices were realised. Best dairy cows sold at from £l2 to £ls, others £9 to £ll 10s; cows, more backward, £7 to £8 15s; heifers, £5 to £ll 10s; bulls, £5 5s to £l2; horses, £2O to £35; pigs. £3 to £5 10s; milking plant £110; and a large quantity of sundries sold at satisfactory prices.

At the Pukekohe yards on Monday we held a special dairy cow eale. Best dairy cows, close to profit, sold at from £lO 10s to £l2 15s, others £8 to £9 15a; cows more backward, £5 to £7 10s; aged ind inferior cows, £3 to £4 17s 6d.

At Ihe Pukekohe yards on Tuesday, we held our usual monthly sale of store cattle. There was a small yaiding, but prices were higher than late sales, and almo3t everything was gold under the hammer. Grown steers sold at from £7 to £8; two to three year old steers, £5 to £6 17s 6d; yearling steers, £3 15s to £4 ss; steer calves, best £2 10s to £3 3s, otfceis £1 10j to £2 2s; heifer calves, 20s to £2 sa; empty cows, £3 to £4 14a; heifers, £3 to £3 17s 6d; bul's, £3 to £B. Beef, of which 98 head was yarded, was at fully Weettield rates. Messrs Buckland and Sons report:—

On Thursday, July 9tb, in the Waiuku yard', in conjunction with the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., we sold the whole of the Kent tarm h'rd of Holstein-Fresian cattle, the property A. M..Barriball. Competition wss good and a most successful eale resulted. The pedigree cows sold at from 23gns to 32gos; old cows, £8 8s to £ls 15s; heifers, £5 5s to £ls 15s; bulls. £l2 12s to 30gns; grade bulls £5 5s to £lO 10s; best of the grade cows, £l4 to £lB 10s; others, £7 to £l2 10s; yearling heifers, £3 10s to £4 10s; horses, £2O to £29.

On Saturday, July 11th, at Pukekawa, we held a clearance sale of Mr A. Simpson's dairy herd. Best cows at profit realised £lO to £l4; August calves, £7 5s to £9 lbs; mora backward, £5 5s to £7; 18 months to two jear old heifers, £4 10s to £7 li 6d; yearling heifers, £3; porkers, £1 3s 6d.
