TUAKAU SOUTH.

IMPROVING OUR SCHOOL

The Tuakau school committee are taking active steps to improve the school grounds. With this object they held a working bee last week, when all the committee, assisted by several public-spirited settlers, turned out and put up a galvanised shelter fence on the south side of the ground. The fence is about three chains long, of eight teet galvanised iron, and will be a boon to the children during the bleak, windy weather such as we had this month.

Further improvements are contemplated, including a yard for horses and the levelling of the grounds. The attendance at the school is steadily on the increase, the last quarter ending with ninety-four on the roll. COMMISSIONERS AT WOKK.
