BUCKLAND.

ANGLICAN CHURCH. In the report furnished vcu of the Buckland Anglican Church, and contained in your issue of the, 12th inst, the balance sheet of K the Ladies' Guild as submitted to the annual meeting of parisihtoners was inadvertently omitted. This showed a credit balance in hand by the Guild of £8 16s 9d, while the sum of £6 lis had also been handed over by the Guild to the vestry during the year. The vicar's warden and secretary of the church, Mr H. W. Driver, request! that this omission be rectified. AN EXPANDING BUSINESS. To make room for his expanding business Mr E. Allan has enlarged his store, which is now twice as large as iormerly. Flans and specifications for the additions were executed by Mr Fred Souster, architect, and the work, which is just completed, has been carried out by Mr George Hill. Messrs A. P. Home and Sons are also extending their business, and Mr Home has lately been joined in partnership by his eldest son from Auckland. A FOOTPATH FORMED. As the result of representations made by the Buckland school committee to Concillors H. Wilcox and D. Fulton, the Franklin County Council recently provided metal chips for several chains of footpath adjacent to the school grounds. The path was very slippery and had become dangerous for the schcul children to walk upon. WORKING BEE. A working bee of settlers has lately effected improvements to the Harrisville Mission Hall and property. WINTER SOCIALS. The first of a series of socials which arc to be held this winter in i connection with the local Lawn Tennis Club to«k place in the Public Hall on Friday evening. A progressive euchre tournament was played, trophies b«ing won by Mrs fc. Bilkey and Mr B, Wilkinson.
