The members of the Commission tecently appointed to report upon the question of the utilisation of the waterways of the Auckland Province (.Messrs W. Ferguson, chairman, Evan Parry and J. E. Watson returned to Auckland last evening from their visit tn the Waikato district. On Wednesday and yesterday the Commissioners j utneyed down the Waikato river from Hamilton to the Heads. A visit was also paid to Waiuku, and yesterday a letum was nndj to Auckland. The Commifsior.eri have cow completed their preliminary tour of the vatious districts affected by the proposed canal schemes, and other matters uron which they have been asked to report, and have given the people interested an inhmatioi of the nature of die information that will be useful to the Commission when it sits to take evidence at the end of the year. The Commissoners, who will leave for Wellington by tomorrow's express, expect to return to Auckland for tho purpose of taking evidence about (lie beginning of December.
