THE Pukekohe and Waiuku Times PUBLISHED TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS TUESSDAY, JUNE 9, 1914 " We nothing extenuate, nor set down aught in malice." WAIUKU TOWN BOARD.

The sitting cf the Commission to enquire into the desirability of forming a Town Board for Waiuku has been completed. It is pleasing to notice that there was practically no objection to the proposal, such slight differences of opinion as had existed having been adjustel before the Commissioners rat. Evidence favourable to the proposal was given by 'Messrj S. T. Rossiter, A. M. Barriball, W. J. Kin?, J. Gribble. W. Adarmon. J. A. Renall, Brown, Grecnhead, .1. Harvey and C. B. Herrold. We are tjlad to know that the people of Waiuku were able to come to an agreement upon the boundary question. There was still a conflict of opinion as to whether roads should b« taken as the boundary lints, but this will remain with the Commissioners to decide. The members of the committee of f r cation were Messrs A. M. Hardball. J. Uribbl?, Dr W. Adamson and S. T. Rossiter, and the nam?s of tbese gentlemen were taken with a view to recommending them to the Governor as the members of the first Board. The other member of fie committee, Mr H. King, did not desire nomination. The preliminaries having been completed we heartily congratulate the townspeople of Waiuku upon their entrance into a closar s;lf-gjvernmjnt. We have ever opposed the suggestion of the late Government to abolish these useful local bodies, and feel convinced that t l e Town Board will do much beneficial service for the township of Waiuku.
