PAPAKURA.

J22 HAND OF HOPE. The first meeting of the Band of Hope for the present session was held in the Pariah hall. Although the night was very wet and stormy the attendance was very good. Mr Sam Evans occupied the chair, and the following contributed to the programme:—Pianoforte duet, Misses Ellis and Murray; songs, Miss Wallia and Mr C. Wallia; recitation, Miss Olphert. An address was given by the Kev. W. S. Potter. 'I he following officers were appointed:—President, Mr S. Evans; vice-presidents, Revs. D. Madill and W. S. Potter; secretary, Miss M. Johnson; treasurer, Miss Wailis. A good programme is being drawn up for the session and interesting and instructive meetings are anticipated.
