As there is a strong possibility of a junior competition all junior players are requested to turn out to a practice THE MAUKU CLUB. The annus! meeting of the Mauku football club was held in the Mauku hot.l on the 16th inst , a very encouraging numbei of members and others being present.
Mr J. B. Goldnvorthy was elected to tha chair. Mr T. H. Bailey was £l:ctid patrin to the club, ard Mr W. G. Pleydell president. Mr W. Fin lay proposed, and Mr Bailey seconded, that the following gentlemen be elected viopre; ldcnts: Messrs J. B. Goldsworthy. W. Howard, E. L. Bayley, J. W. McLarin, senr., P. Ryburn, J. Graham, A. J. Moore, J. Henry, B. White. "h. Davy and E. C. Cull'. Mr C. R. Sheppard was again appointed secretary ai:d Mr W. Finlay was cho3en captain. The captain, Mr Finlay, and Mr J. McLari.i were elected as ctelecates. It was decided

The lirst match of the sr-aaon was played on Saturday, May 1 <3l hj, I'ukekohe meeting St John s, one of the strongest teams in Auckland. The weather was against good football, rain falling throughout the match, but Pukekohe fought hard ai d contested every inch of the ground, having hard luck in only scoring one goal I. Latti). I'ukekohe had rather a weak team, but hope to do better on Saturday when they meet North Shote on tne Parade Ground, at I'likekohp.
