KARAKA ROAD BOARD.

ENGINEER'S REPORT. Mr Gannon, the Board's engineer, reported:— "Cossey's road. —I inspected this road and in order to make a fair job I would suggest that an additional £5 be expended, making a total of £2s.—lt was explained that the loan money available was £2O. The extra £5 was authorised,

"Approach to Mcpherson's culvert.—l have arranged with the contractor to improve the approach to this culvert as early as possible, this being part of his contract. "blinding road'*.—l notice on the Waiuku-Ururv road that thick clay has been used for the purpose of blinding. This should not be allowed. It is worse than useless. Only light blinding is necessary.—lt was decided to procure a truck of chips or scoria and put on when the weather was favourable. "Bridge at I'aerata.—The above bridge has been raised to the new formation level. Stronger wing walls are neceseary. This I will arrange to be done at the earliest possible oppoitunity. "S'vatnp drainage through Jamieson's. —The Board should note that it is not desirable to have tru great a fall in trenches. It occurred to me that the water was ru.mirg too freely. This ehouid be avoided by having easier gradients."
