SALE OF LAND.
On Roose's Hill. The sale of sections on Roose's Hill, behind the railway station, was very successful. The auction took place on Wednesday afternoon, Messrs S. Vaile and Sons being the auctioneers. Twelve sections weie submitted and all but four were sold at the hammer. All of these have rfince been disposed of privately. Sales effected at auction were:— Lot 1, lr. lip., W. M. Smith, £lsl. Lot 3, lr. 16p., A. Grant, £135. Lot 7, lr. ?lp., S. W. Mills, £IOO. Lot 8, lr. 15p., T. Brownlee, £BO. Lot 9, Jr. 22p., T. Biownlee, £95. Lot 10, lr. 29p., J. A. Blake, £92 10s. Lot 11, lr. 37p., J. Patterson, £65. Lot 12, 2r. 21p., W. M. Smith, £65.
