Mayoral Election.
[TO THE EDITOR , Sir, —I was pleased to note the remarks by Mr F. W. Mountjoy ir, your issue of the 21st April re the necessity of candidates for the position of Mayor convening public meetings of the electors and expressing thereat their views on municipal affairs. I think such action is quite necessary on the part of anyone who aspires to the poaition of civic head of the Council and boroi'gh. 1 do not think the same action is customary or so needful on behalf of the candidates for the Council; they usually announce their platform in the newspapers only. 1 arr, etc., ALBEKT E WILKINSON.
