BUCKLAND.
LAWN TENNIS. During the Easter holidays representatives of the Buckland Tennis Club journeyed to Taupiri, Ngaruawahia and Raglan, to play matches with clubs in those districts. At Taupiri the visitors were defeated by nine sets to sis, and 119 games to 87. The mutch played at Ngaruawahia resulted in a victory for the visitors, who won by six sets to four, and 76 games to 67. The scores were as follows, Buckland players being mentioned first: —Men's singles—A. Bilkey v. E. Bilkey, 9—3. , Ladies' doubles—Misses Bilkey and Leighton v. Mesdames Norris and McArthur, 9—7 ; Misses Davy and Neal v. Mrs Hutt and Miss Burnett, 3—9. Men's doubles —A. Bilkey and L. Bilkey v. Rhodes and E. Bilkey, 9 —4 :M. Bilkey and Leighton v. Gillander and Holmes, 9—5. Combined doubles—Miss Bilkey and A. Bilkey v. Mrs Morris and E. Bilkey, B—9 : Miss Leighton and L. Bilkey v. Mrs McArthur and Rhodes, 9—7 ; Miss Leighton aud M. Bilkey v. Miss Burnett and Gillander, 7—9 ; Miss Davy and Leightun v. Mrs Hutt and Holmes, 9—5 ; Mi ss Neal and Scliotield v. Mrs i Stewart and Gillander, I—9. At Eaglan the Buckland team was defeated by a narrow margin, tlio sots played being four all, and the points 356 to 3.31.
