POKENO.

OLD SETTLER'S DEATH. We are sorry to have to record the death of another of the early pioneers or this district in the person of Mr Peter Mclntyre, who, with his wife, arrived in Auckland bv the ship "Helensles" in the year 1864, shortly afterwards ssttling in Pokeno. Th 3 late Mr Mclntyre was famany years well-known as a successful storekeeper and farmer until he retired some few years ago. It was on his return trip to New Zealand after having re-visited his birthplace in Scotland that Mr Mclntyre was taken ill and died, being buried at sea. The deceased leaves a grown-up family of two Eons and five daughters, his wife having predeceased him by nearly four years.
