HECOVERING. Dr Howden returned from Dunedin on Tueeday. Mrs Howdtn ia now recovering from her very serious illness. Dr Leon Jame?, late of Christchurch, acted as locum tenens for Lit Howden. SUDDEN DEATH.
Mr John Winchester, once an old and trusted employee of Mr Alfred Kidd on hi i Waiuku farm, died suddenly lait week in Auckland. PRIZE-WINNEKS. Waiuku was well to the front in carrying off prizes at tbe Pukekohe Show, and it has been suggested that we are well able to run a show of our own at no distant date. MEMORIAL SERVICE. At Otaua Church on Sunday afternoon the Rev. C. A. Vaughan held an in memoriam service for the late Mrs Allonby. The preacher took aB his text the words "She hath done what she could," and referred to the help the deceastd lady had rendered in Sunday scho:l work and other good causes.
