A SILVER WEDDING.
Interesting Awhitu Function. On iuesday, January 27th, a most enjoyable garden party waa given at Waimatuka, Awhitu, by Mr and Mrs James Hamilton on the occasion of their pilver wedding. As the day was beautifully fine Vnany were enabled to come from a longdistance. The "silver bride" looked well, gowned in grey silk voile, and carried a pretty bouquet of whi'e roses. At 11.30 a.m. frienc's atd relations numbering between eighty and ninety, sat down to a sumptuous repa-t under the cool shade of the trees. Speeches incidental to the occasion were delivered by Mr A. Morrison and Mr R. Alexander, to which Mr Hamilton made response. 'lhe cempacy enjojed themselves 6trollirg through Mr Hamilton's orchard, many doing their uest to relieve the trees ot their heavy burden of fruit.
A variety ef outdoor games were played by the young folks until the invitation was again given to gather round the table. Mr and Mrs Hamilton were the recipients of some valuablj and useful presents.
