Whera all the item 3 were st good it woull need a mutual critic ot far higher ability than your correspond.nt to drscribe the able manner in which they were rendered. Of tha twelve numbers placed by Mr Phillpot tha "Gloria" from the 12th Mass by Muzart, the "War March of the Priests'" by Mendlessohn, the "Largo' - in Gby Handel, and the Chorale in C minor and Poftlude in E flat major, composed by Mr Phillpot himself, were spoken of as being specially pleasing. Your correspondent has the same difficulty in writing of the six songs all so equally well sung. Mrs Pilgrim was heard to advantage in "Beloved. Sleep" by Slater, and "Eye Hath Not Seen, 1 ' from the Holy City, by Gaui. Miss Chadwick sang "For Evermore," by Bonheur. Mr A. Smith sang "Saved by a Child." Mr Hovey's rendering of the good old favourite "Nazareth" was very much appreciated, as was also the "King of Eternity" sung by Mr Walker, Mrs All n kindly playing this accompaniment. The congregation thoroughly enjoyed the opening and closing hymns. The collection amounted to more than two pounds).
