MAUKU.

RAILWAY LEAGUE. A meeting of the Kailway League ia to be field in the Patumahoe Hall on Monday, 2nd February, when all interested in the turning of the first sod arc requested to be present. Though the exact locality is not certain yet it is very probabla that ttis district will be selected as a suitable position for the ceremony. The Mauku branch has all along been fully alive and in the event of a central spot being selected a successful day can be safely reckoned on. The Mauku secretary, Mr W. Finlay, is a particularly energetic member, and bas been appointed as assistant secretary to the executive in the event of the opening spot being selected at Mauku end.
