AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKET. Mr J. Jones,"auctioneer, Victoria and Lome Streets, Auckland, reports : A large quantity of poultry came forward for to-day's auction, though not in quite such a glut as last week. Prices ruled firmer. Prime roosters and young ducks were in strong demand. A large quantity of poor birds are- coming forward which have a tendency to lower values. Potatoes continue to be sent forward in large supplies to a full* market. Prices are lower. Vegetables are low in value. Poultry, over 2000 penned: Roosters, prime, 4s 9d to 5s 9d ; good, 3s 9d to 4s 3d; others 3s to 3s 6d ; cockerels, 2s to 2s 10d; chickens, 6d to Is 3d; ducks, old, Is 8d to 2s; young, according to breed and size, 2s 3d to 4a Bd. A line of young Pekin ducks from Mercer realised 3s 7d to 4s Bd. Geese, 4s 6d to 6s 9d; hens, good, 2s 4d to 2s lOd; specials, 2s lOd to 3s 3d; poor, Is 6d to Is 9d; ordinary hens, 2s to 2s 2d ; turkey gobblers, 9s to 13s 6d; hens, 5s to 7s ; pigs, 8s to 14s 6d. Produce: Potatoes, prime, £4 to £4 10s; good, £3 10s to £3 15s, poor are unsaleable; onions, 16s 9d to 25a; peas, 9d to Is peck; cabbages, Is 6d to 2s sack. I Grain: Maize, 4s 6d to 4s 9d; wheat, 4s 9d to 4s lid; oats, 3s lid: bran, £4 15s; sharps, £6 15s; chaff, £7 ss; barley, 3s 7d.
