Play at Pukekohe. The first Stars game of tho season was played on the Pukekoho bowl- | ing green on Saturday. The day , was boisterous and the green heavy, j The holders were : Keith, Perkins, Wiight and Blake, and the challengers Townson (substitute foi W. ' Adams), . Egginton, Lawrio (substitute for J. Adams) and Eames. , The holders scored eleven before the challengers secured a single point. When the holders were 13 they were held there until The challengers crept up and when they got away from the unlucky number the game stood : Holders 14, challengers 13. The challengers were unable to get away from the fatal 13 for three or four heads and with three heads to go the holders were eight or nine ahead. Tho challengers were unable to make good and the game ended : Holders 23, challengers 17.
