A LECTURE. On Tuesday the Rev. I. Jolly, M.A., delivered a very instructive and interesting lecture upon "lan Maclaren." The lecturer was lotrodaced by the Rev. 1). Maclill, w!-o announced that the proce ds would be cUvotrd to a fund for repairing and renovating the church building. The lecture was listened to by an appreciative audience, and those of a literary turn of mind fully enjoyed the masterly manner in which the lecturer dealt with his subject. MARRIAGE. The Methodist chapel was crowded to the vjry door on Wednesday afternom, on the occasion of the marriage of Miss Ida Richardson, third daughter of Mr William Richardson, of the sash and daor factory, ti Mr Harry C. Baulf, "of Frankton. Th° ceremony was performed by the Rev. William Beckett, assisted by Pastor Clark, late of the Tabernacle, Auckland. The Misses Essie and Ivy Richardson were the bridesmaids, and Mr Spurdsw acted as best man. The bride, tastefully dresstd in pala ivory satin, with veil and orange blossoms, looked Very nice, and the bridesmaids were dresser! in white silk. After the ceremony Mr and Mrs Richardson held a reception in the hall, where a large number of friends eat down. 'lhe bride's health was proposed by Mr Spurdew, supported by the Revs. Beckett, Clark, W. C. Wood and Messrs Taylor and G. D. Smith. The health of the bride's parent* was proposed by Mr Stewart, supported by Messrs Farnsworth, D. W. Jones t;nd S. Evans. Mr B:nny proposed the health of the bndesmaids, and Mr McLennan, supported by Mr Cole, that of the "OH Folks." In the evening a social was held in the public hall, and was well attended. A number of musical and elocutionary items were rendered, and the rest of the evening was devoted to thncinjj.
